Australia and New Zealand Banking Group began in London when The Bank
of Australasia was established under Royal Charter in 1835. The bank is
the third largest bank in Australia and the largest bank in New Zealand
and accounts for a net profit of A$3.69 billion during September 2006
and group operating revenue of A$10.15 billion and assets of $335
billion.
The bank has started expanding by acquiring different banks and
financial institutions. It also expanded to foreign countries and became
successful.
