The tradition of printing faces and images of famous personalities and
places is a practice followed by every country. This gives an identity
to the notes of the particular nation and makes it different from
others. Australian currencies have different faces printed on them and
they vary from note to note. The personalities who are featured on the
currency notes are:
People featured on $100 note

Dame Nellie Melba - The most famous soprano of the 19th century, Dame
was Australia's first pop star. She became very famous and performed in
London, Paris, Milan and New York. She even has a dish dedicated to her
by the famous French chef Auguste Escoffier.

Sir John Monash - The great military person having a University named
after him that he earlier attended to study studied law, engineering and
arts has his image on a $100 note. He played a great role in World War I
and post war advised the government on military affairs. He became the
vice-chancellor of the University of Melbourne.
