The tradition of printing faces and images of famous personalities and
places is a practice followed by every country. This gives an identity
to the notes of the particular nation and makes it different from
others. Australian currencies have different faces printed on them and
they vary from note to note. The personalities who are featured on the
currency notes are:
People featured on $10 note

‘Banjo’ Paterson - With a dashing hat the picture of Paterson is on
the $10 note. Paterson was a folk writer of the 20th century and his
best creation, The Man from Snowy River, is printed on the $10 note
along with the picture.

Dame Mary Gilmore - Dame was another social and political reformist
who wrote prose and poetry in the 1900s. Her face featured on the $10
note. She was a very active social reformer and campaigned for old and
young people, women, Aborigines and workers.
